Hey! We are AOOW {Animals Of Our World}
...A couple from England (Essex / London) who began our travels and unexpectedly became deeply invovled in animal rescue after witnessing the frequent amount of suffering for orphan / neglected stray cats and dogs thoughout Asia.
In the desperate situations we found ourselves in, when finding a cat/dog in a horrendous condition.. we would rescue and rehabilitate these suffering stray cats and dogs in our hostel rooms and seek the medical care needed. We continued to do this through four countries before we began a much bigger mission in Cambodia. Again, one very unexpected mission.
We have put ALL our blood, sweat, and many tears.. into the build of our shelter/base, House Of Strays. H.O.S is where we are able to rehabilitate rescues and provide them with the shelter, love and care they need. We are striving and working hard to make it the beautiful haven we hope it to be for temporary living once successfully adopted and a permanent home for those unable to be adopted due to disablity/trauma.
First and foremost, House Of Strays is a home. Every lodger/resident or visitor is apart of this big crazy furry family we are.
As we are currently self sustained and have limited funds to continue our huge project, we are asking for kind donations to help us get House Of Strays finished and continue rescuing animals who desperately need us. We are only able to take in the worst cases of suffering we see. The animals struggling to survive are first priority. Unfortunately at this time we are the ONLY rescue home in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
No matter what their story is, disabled or able.. we provide a home with shelter, love, reliable feeds and a chance to feel apart of a family and a respected being.
What is the process for a new stray at H.O.S❓
Rescue . Rehabilitate . Re-home
Every animal at Strays is treated for their individual illness, fully vaccinated, desexed, loved and deeply cared for. Then we wait patiently for a loving forever family to come along. For those who are not adopted, we need to ensure H.O.S will forever be a safe place for them to live out their lives as peacefully and easily as possible.
What are we doing right now at H.O.S❓
We are currently in the process of transforming our rescue home into a rescue shelter cafe/bar and small homestay. We are currently open to the public already and this is a step that has improved our overall support by allowing others to see the work we do. But also having a chance to love and play with our many rescues with the option to contribute to our animal welfare care/maintaining H.O.S.
BUT... We still have a long way to go and alot more support to gain!
We hope everybody who comes to meet our strays family takes one thing away from visiting...
