Animal Rescue Sanctuary

IMMEDIATE FUNDING NEEDED FOR ANIMAL TRANSPORT VAN AND ADDITIONAL SHELTERS.

The C.A.M.B.R.I.A Animal Sanctuary (Canines And More Being Rescued in America) was created in Acton, CA in 2008 by Lorraine Stewart so that abused, neglected and unwanted animals would have a safe and happy place to live out the rest of their lives. 

There are now 160 animals at the sanctuary (Horses -including 5 miniature horses and 2 that were rescued from slaughter - sheep, geese, alpaca, pigs, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, goats, birds and more). 

But caring for these animals is expensive. Food alone costs over $6000 a month, and with constant medical care needed for the elderly animals, Lorraine's retirement savings that have been funding the sanctuary are almost completely depleted. In addition, within a two year period, Lorraine was in FOUR serious car accidents (NONE that were her fault) that have left her with physical injuries that make it extremely difficult to walk, impossible to lift large bags of food or bails of hay, and harder to care for the animals on her own. (NOTE: This video for the animal sanctuary was created pre-COVID, before any of the four car accidents that have left Lorraine physically debilitated.)

Not only are these animals left without a transport vehicle, Lorraine also needs to hire extra help. Also, due to the extreme change in our southern California weather, additional shelters need to be built. Funding for the continued loving care of these animals is desperately needed.

C.A.M.B.R.I.A was originally granted not-for-profit status in 2008. The IRS mistakenly deleted the Sanctuary from the list of non-profit charities last May, but has notified Lorraine that the sanctuary's non-profit status is being restored. All donations past and present are tax-deductible.
