Animal relief rescue for Rincon PR

After the destructive path of Hurricane Maria through Puerto Rico, everyone on the island experienced complete devastation.

Many nights were spent thinking of what HALO could do to help the animals that are suffering, with no food, no water and no medical care.

HALO partnered with a team going into Rincon. Satellite phones got us connected with the locals and the rescues doing what they could with nothing. Our hearts broke as we heard the reports. “It’s worse than we thought. It looks like a bomb went off. It’s like nothing we have ever seen.”

All shipments of supplies were stuck in airports with no way for delivery drivers to get them to the smaller towns. We had to think of a better way.

How could we get into a town completely devastated and with an airport shut down to military operations only. And the bad weather continued to wreck havoc.

In our search for help, we were connected with an incredible organization called Guardians of Rescue.

They have given us the opportunity to charter a plane at cost to organize supplies to be brought directly into Rincon- over 9,000lbs of food, fresh water and supplies, and on the return pack in approximately 70 dogs and cats back to us to start their path to recovery.

The $15,000 is for the charter alone and as soon as funds are received will be wired to Guardians of Rescue. Our first charter date is October 24th.

Buddy is only one waiting for us to pick him up. We need your help to save him and the others from a life with no way out...no families to go to... food shortages… no fresh water…
