Angie's Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
In June, my mom Angie was diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Cancer. She’s scheduled to begin treatment this week by first getting her port (July 9th), then chemotherapy (July 12th). She’ll go through chemotherapy (24-26 weeks), surgery then radiation. The first phase of chemo will be 4 treatments, once every 3 weeks then she’ll start the second phase which is weekly for 12 weeks.
My mom has been a hard worker her entire life. All I’ve seen her do is make sacrifices for my sister and I along with the ones she love. In return, I’m making sacrifices to make sure that she is taken care of. We were recently (TODAY July 8th) told that she has to pay $719 before she can have the procedure for her port, and $350 before each chemo treatment. There’s a shot that she has to have after chemotherapy to help with her white blood cells, but due to the cost…Insurance will not pay for the shot until she gets sick.
My younger sister and I are committed to making sure she can get the treatment she needs. I took the responsibility of paying for her port and first chemo treatment. I’ll continue to help out with as much as I can, but I know that this is something that we can’t do alone. I’m asking that you help us fight this battle. Anything that you’re able to contribute to our family will be appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Farrari
August 18th: I’ve been hesitant about doing this but I updated the goal. Open enrollment starts in November, and we have to start over with deductibles & the out of pocket maximum. Everything that you all donate helps with treatment, along with financial needs due to her missing work.
I appreciate everything that you all contribute.
