Angels Baseball Service Fundraiser

Our Goal: Fundraising and Community Service
Our goal is to combine fundraising with local community service in order for our 12U baseball team to raise money to help fund our participation in the 2018 American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park in Cooperstown, NY, this coming July.  These funds will help pay our tournament entry fees and other tournament-specific costs such as our provision of an umpire.

The Idea
Rather than providing car washes to local motorists, our players are hoping to raise funds by getting involved in the local community by volunteering at the Faith Center Food Pantry & Clothes Closet here in Houston.  That way, we raise money for our tournament costs and a good local cause receives needed volunteer hours.

Your donations go to our team.  Our hours go to the Food Pantry & Clothes Closet.
We commit to volunteer a total of at least 54 hours as a team to the Food Pantry & Clothes Closet (nine boys working six hours each split over three separate Saturdays).  The players will be able to use the teamwork they’ve developed to receive and organize donations, help with food pallets, and perform any other big jobs that need big muscles.  Specific jobs will include breaking down pallets, unboxing and repackaging food items, sorting clothing, and sorting and moving household items.  

We appreciate any donation you could make toward our tournament costs.

Details
Any donations we receive will be split equally among the team. 

Our first volunteer shift is March 3rd from 9:30 - noon.  Additional shifts will occur over additional Saturdays as needed to reach our 54 hour commitment.  We will be posting updates. 

Our tournament in Cooperstown is from July 14th to July 19th. 

About the Food Pantry & Clothes Closet
The Faith Center is a designated mission of Houston’s First Baptist Church.  In practical terms, it is a food pantry and clothes closet that serves upwards of 1,000 families every month.  There is ALWAYS work to be done there.
