Angels for Kerala - Flood relief fundraiser for Kerala, working along with local relief groups in Aluva and other worst hit areas.
Kerala, the southern state in India often called "God's own country" for it's beautiful land and people, is but now under siege from the worst flood of the century. Unprecedented rains and overflowing rivers are drowing the state. Aluva, an industrial town in central Kerala is the worst affected. Local and regional rescue and relief teams are overwhelmed. Thousands of people are stranded, displaced and most part of this region is now submerged under water. Loss of life and property is staggering. Aluva and other worst hit areas Kerala needs our help and generosity.
100% of funds raised here will go to flood relief and rehabilitation efforts, working with local groups, to effectively intervene in relief, rescue, clean up and support efforts. Worse hit areas like Aluva bears a high risk of facing waterborne diseases and other after flood issues. We will focus on the relief and after flood issues-clean up, disease control, sanitation and training for local people to handle the situation and support people who lost everything to start a new life.
Please contribute generously, help people in dire need. Know your contribution will directly go the grassroot organizations that work directly on relief efforts. Complete accounts of contributions received and utilized will be published.

I am raising funds to support flood relief efforts of my home town Aluva. Funds collected here will be donated to Punyam, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in San Jose, CA, that does flood relief work in Kerala.

The funds donated to Non Profit organisations or other organisations in USA will be used to fund volunteers in Kerala doing Flood relief and Indian Government accredited relief organisations in Aluva and Kerala.
