I have a dream...to hear again.

I have a dream...

My name is Heide (Angel Heide), I was born deaf and was brought up hearing impaired in the hearing world.  My dream is to hear again after my hearing aids had died.  I longed/desired and missed to hear sounds, voices spoken, music, interpreting for the deaf…again.  When my hearing aid died it had affected my job, clients, potential clients, and the audience heavily, because I was not hearing like what I used to hear.  Many people did not know I was deaf since I could hear and speak while I relied heavily on my intuition and listening to god’s guidance.  By not having my hearing aids to help me to hear, it became a frustrating experience for me, until a few years ago, I found out I was the perfect candidate for the cochlear implant.  Now I am having cochlear implant surgery this Tues 6/27/17 at approximately 12noon.  The surgery will be three hours long at St Joseph hospital. Yes, I am excited and nervous, praying for the doctor to do things right.

I need help to raise some money by July 10, 2017, to help me to cover the cost what the insurance won’t cover; the process to help me to hear; doctor visit for turning on the devices, programming, therapy (re-training to hear), adjustment, equipment, and calibrations to be done after the surgery.  Total:  $7,655.  I have exhausted every possible solution such as loan (to fit my budget), agencies, and more, I am now out of options.  I desperately want to hear again and to come back to do more speaking engagements as well.

I pray that I can achieve the goal of donations that I need, with your help, I will be very grateful for your help, support, and believing in me.  If I can exceed my goal with your donation it can help me out for survival while having two weeks off and to pay my bills during the resting period to heal.  The doctors told me, I won’t be allowed to do any physical work for 2 weeks and no driving for a week.  Can you help me, please?  Help me to reach my goal to allow my dream to happen; to hear again.

Thank you for your donations,
With my love and peace,
Heide Hargreaves (Angel Heide)

What is a cochlear implant? ...Unlike a hearing aid, a cochlear implant does not amplify sounds. Instead, it stimulates the auditory nerve, the sounds heard through the implant do not sound the same as they are heard through normal hearing. Voices and environmental noises sound different when heard through a cochlear implant, but those with the device will be able to hear more than if they did not have the implant.
