Angeles' Quinceanera Celebration

Hello everyone, my name is Maria Gonzales and I am the mother of Angeles and I wanted to share such a celebratory day with all the people (teachers, therapists, classmates, former classmates) that have touched Angeles’ life. It is Angeles’ wish to celebrate her Quinceanera (15th birthday) with her friends and family.

Angeles was born as a completely healthy girl, during the first six months of life we ​​realized that she did not have the abilities of her age, we went to the pediatrician who referred her to Therapies (physical and occupational) and she was diagnosed as "slow development"* When Angeles was one year old, she was not walking and the pediatrician ordered a CAT SCAN to rule out the possibility of a brain tumor. There was also a doubt because her blood tests revealed a tumor marker, since we did not obtain a convincing response from the pediatricians, we decided to change Angeles pediatrician and the latter decided to send Angeles to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, for various genetic tests, at the same time she was also sent to Westchester Medical Center for neurological care. After several genetic and neurological tests, Angeles finally had a diagnosis: Ataxia Telangiectasia, a rare medical condition, without treatment, without a cure, and progressive that directly affects the nervous system and the respiratory tract. Unfortunately, Angeles' health has been deteriorating and there's nothing that can stop the disease, there is no cure and experimental treatments that have been applied in other countries are not yet approved by the FDA in the United States. Angeles is wheelchair bound and needs around the clock care. Time is very sensitive for her.

Angeles is turning 15 and her one wish is to have a traditional Quinceanera birthday. A quinceanera is a girl's 15th birthday, marking her passage from girlhood to womanhood. We want to celebrate her, life is so precious these days and I truly believe that time is golden to celebrate with the ones you love and adore and has made an impact on my daughter’s life. With the kind donations, they will cover the cost of the venue, food, music, decorations, rentals,etc. We are hoping to invite approximately 150 people to this celebration of life.

Queremos celebrarla, la vida es tan valiosa en estos dias y realmente creo que el tiempo es oro para celebrar con los que amas y adoras y ha tenido un impacto en la vida de mi hija.
