Andy's Battle

Donation protected
Andy was diagnosed in June  2018 with Stage 4 terminal lung cancer. For Meg and Andy and the girls, things quickly got worse. In just a few weeks, they found out that the Cancer had spread to his liver, lymphonodes, and brain. The doctors also determined that Andy has two different types of cancer (adenocarcinoma and squamous cell) , which is proving very difficult to treat.

Andy started aggressive chemotherapy and immunotherapy in July 2018. At this time, he went on a disability leave from work without pay. Meg quickly increased her business and amount of time working, to make up the difference in Andy's loss of wages.

In September he had gamma knife surgery on the brain. That same night, he started having seizures and started seizure medication.

They continued with chemotherapy but switched up his chemo cocktail several times because as the oncologist put it, "his cancer is smart and the chemo only works for one infusion, before it starts to spread again."

November through January was incredibly hard on them.  Andy was in and out of the hospital. He had emergency surgery for a pericardial effusion that collapsed his heart (fluid around the heart). He had the flu.
He then got an infection in the pericardium which required medication for 30 days to treat. He became severely neutropenic (very low white blood count, red blood count, and neutrophils) making it near impossible to fight any germs or infection he encountered. He had high fevers and was hospitalized again.

During this difficult time,  Meg  started a home business to try to provide for the family, pay the bills, and all the added expenses for Andys care while staying home to take care of him. In addition to chemo and radiation they are trying alternitive holistic treatments.  These supplements, on top of co-pays, and travel expenses (sometimes 4 times a week), has become a burden for Meg to try to carry by herself.

Like Andy's oncologist stated, his cancer is smart and the multiple types of cancer do not appear to be working. Andys health has deteriorated. He is unable to walk up and down the steps very well. He has trouble breathing and is now on oxygen 24/7. His appetite has decreased greatly and at his last appointment, he lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks time.

If you are able to help this sweet family, Please contribute financially any amount if you are able. Any amount helps Meg to stop working morning til night, to try to provide.

Please pray for Andy for healing and strength for Meg...they need all your prayers.

These 2 are my family and it is amazing how much they are fighting. They never give up!
