Andrew's Get Back Home to Denver

Donation protected
In early July, my brother, Andrew, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia, and was rushed to the Research Medical Center in Kansas City where he began chemotherapy to treat the illness.

My parents and I rushed out to Kansas City to spend a few days with him and were delighted to see how strong an attitude he had and his drive to beat the disease.  The doctors were very confident that not only would Andrew survive the chemo, but would beat the disease.

Going in, we were all very concerned, as you can imagine, but after having been with him for a few days and talked to the medical staff in great detail, we all feel extremely confident that he will beat this disease.

Currently, he resides in the KC area, but due to various hardships in his life outside of the medical issues, my family and I are trying to get him back to Denver where he can restart his life.

Andrew has roots in Denver, including better access to medical insurance, job opportunities, and places he can live while he gets on his feet.  It will basically offer him a chance to not only continue his treatment with the facilities available there, but clean his slate.

The funds are being raised are to help our family get him out to Denver.  The plan right now is that my Dad would drive out from South Carolina back to Kansas City, where he'd take my brother out to Denver and help him get set up.  This funds would cover fuel, lodging, and food, and whatever is left over to help kickstart my brother out there.  This is not to assist with medical bills, this is just to help our family support my brother and help get him to where he wants to be in Denver, Colorado.

The treatment he is currently receiving in Kansas City will take another couple of weeks, so it would the goal of this fund-raising to get the money by August 14. It would be turned over to my father, who would then coordinate the travel plans with the ending goal to have my brother settled in Denver as soon as his current treatment allows.

I thank you all for taking the time to read this story, and hope that you can help us get my brother back to Denver where he can start his life from scratch, and hopefully do so free of Leukemia.  Many thanks to all.
