Hi, my name is Andrea, I have acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I am only 2 and half years old, I am very little, too little to understand what is going on… I believe my parents are doing their best to explain to me what Leukemia is and what I have to expect during treatment, so here is my story…
21st April I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia which was a massive shock to me and my parents. Since then our lives have changed completely as I need a lot of care and my mum can’t come back to work and stays with me all the time, because I am getting a lot of side effects from chemotherapy drugs. I do not see my dad much because he is at work most of the time as we need as much money as possible for long journeys to hospitals (Royal Marsden, Tunbridge Wells and Pembury hospitals). Now I am living more at hospital than at home and I have to take lots of medicine. Because of chemo drugs I have nearly lost all my hair and it’s really hard to walk. I feel pain in all my bones, especially on my lower body- my hips and legs. I see how hard it is for my parents and relatives. Treatment will take 2 and a half years and we all are hoping that I will be cured, but it is a long way to get there.
Please help us raise vital funds that will be crucial for me and my family in the coming months. The pain and suffering this has caused our beautiful family from this cruel disease will be far-reaching and so if you are able to donate, we would be forever grateful and thankful. I will keep you updated with my treatment progress.
With love
Andrea and my family
