Anchoring Hope for Stacy
Donation protected
Stacy was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a Triple Negative breast cancer. Since discovering her lump in August she has had to have mammograms, ultrasounds, a PET scan and an echocardiogram. The doctors are recommending strong doses of the chemotherapy agent, Doxorubicin, which has been given the nickname "red devil" because of its harsh side effects. She received her first treatment on September 15th, which also happened to be her 41st birthday. She will receive chemo treatments every other week for 8 weeks, and then every week for 12 weeks.
After Stacy gets the results from her genetic testing for BRCA 1 and BRCA 2, she will also need to undergo a lumpecty followed by radiation, or a mastectomy depending on if she carries either of these gene mutations. This has all been a whirlwind of emotions for our family and has all happened very fast. We are confident that she can and will beat this. However, the bills are already piling up for her. Stacy spends her days working as a nurse and taking care of others. She has always been there for her family and friends. Now it is our turn to help take care of her. We would love to help alleviate some of the pressures she is feeling from all the expenses associated with treatment of this terrible diagnosis, so that she can really focus on this battle set before her.
With sincere gratitude,
The Bartz, Bratten, and Birchard families
