Hello ! Hi !

 

I'm writing to you today from a place of deep vulnerability, a place of need. As a fairly private person I have trouble asking for help with things, but the circumstances of this current need are more than I can handle on my own.

 

You may know me as a friend or an artist or a musician or the person who biked past you wearing really bright clothes or maybe you don't know me at all ! Regardless of our relationship, I'm here to tell you this : I am SO uncomfortable. All the time ! Always ! It's brutal, and constant, and often overwhelming. It's also hard for me to talk about, but I'm trying.

 

I've been thinking about this surgery for at least like ... 12 years now ? ! And have come to the absolute conclusion that it is something I need to do, and soon ! I have this wild fantasy of starting off my 30's with a body that feels alright to me, and I can actually make this happen if I have the procedure done sometime next year. This is mind blowing to me, and I feel more excited about that than ... really anything else !

 

I've been doing a lot of research and because of my life and location and the fight to the death arena we call "healthcare" I have decided to raise the funds myself. It's so daunting and way more money than I can really imagine, but I want to chase this strange hope I've discovered ! So I'm giving it a shot. The "goal" should cover the surgery and extra hospital fees and recovery expenses. If there is anything left over at the end of it all or if somehow magically insurance things work out in my favor I will send it directly to the Coalition For Black Trans Economic Liberation, a Philly based wealth redistribution group.
