Ana's Fight for Justice

Donation protected
On March 13, 2018, Ana del Rocío Valderrama—a young mom, elected public official, State Director of Color PAC, and fierce community activist—was arrested and held for six hours at Multnomah County Jail.

Why?

Because according to the TriMet and Portland Police Bureau officers who surrounded her, she gave them a false name (she didn't).

You can read the Portland Mercury story of what happened here and her personal public statement on her Facebook page.

While she has secured a pro bono attorney and there's  a Meal Train already set up, Ana's battle against this injustice is just beginning. PPB's racist actions have taken, and will continue to take, an immense emotional toll on her.

That's why I'm asking you to join me in aiding Ana find  her way to spiritual and emotional recovery.

As you all know, counseling isn't cheap, so every dollar we raise through this campaign will go to fund—for just six months—the professional support Ana needs to heal mentally and emotionally from the trauma she's experienced.

Let's show Ana that the Portland she fights for every day is willing to fight with her for the justice she (and all of us!) deserve. Are you in?
