On Monday, 17th September, my friend Ana’s mom had a major accident in her house in Manizales, Colombia. She is still at the hospital and since she didn’t have a medical insurance, she was forced to pay the expensive treatments with her savings. The biggest issue starts here: Her house was to be evicted by a private landlord this weekend, and she was expecting to pay the exceeding for the mortgage with the savings that she was obliged to spend at the hospital -where she’s still under recovery-.
When the landlord found out that they couldn’t pay the money in the due date, Ana and her family were threatened by two men who came to their house - (i don’t give more info for safety purposes). Now, not only my friend has her mom at the hospital but is also responsible for assuming this debt that compromises her and her smaller sister.
This is a matter to be taken seriously and for respect and a number of reasons we cannot provide further information or photos. I can say that this payment needs to be done ASAP, and the time is running out.
You, friends and family who have had the time to be in Manizales and spend time with me, have had the chance to know what a wonderful person Ana is. She’s welcoming, full of life, commited in the DIY punk scene, happy and so many more good adjectives that i wouldn’t be able to fit in here. Desperate times require desperate help.

El lunes, 17 de septiembre, la mamá de mi amiga Ana tuvo un accidente mayor en su casa en Manizales, Colombia. Todavía está en el hospital y como no tenía seguro médico, se vio obligada a pagar los costosos tratamientos con sus ahorros. Aunque eso no es todo, ya que el mayor problema comienza aquí: su casa iba a ser desalojada por un propietario privado este fin de semana, y esperaba pagar el exceso de la hipoteca con los ahorros que estuvo obligada a gastar en el hospital, donde todavía se encuentra en recuperación.
Cuando el propietario descubrió que no podían pagar el dinero en la fecha debida, Ana y su familia fueron amenazadas por dos hombres que llegaron a su casa (no doy más información por razones de seguridad). Ahora, no solo mi amiga tiene a su madre en el hospital, sino que también es responsable de asumir esta deuda que la compromete a ella y a su hermana menor.
Este es un asunto que debe tomarse en serio y, por respeto a ella y su familia, -entre otras razones-, no podemos proporcionar más información o fotos. Puedo decir que este pago debe hacerse lo antes posible, y el tiempo se está acabando.
Ustedes, amigos y familiares que han tenido la oportunidad de estar en Manizales y pasar tiempo conmigo y con ella, han constatado la maravillosa persona que es Ana y que, si esta situación afectara a otra persona, ella sin duda ayudaría. Se trata de una chica llena de amor, comprometida en la escena del punk DIY, que reparte alegría y que vive por lo que piensa (aparte de muchos más adjetivos que no puedo hacer caber aquí).
Los tiempos desesperados requieren ayuda desesperada.
