Hi everyone! First of all, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to visit this page! I have one request and that is to keep this a secret from my mom because I want to surprise her for her birthday!
So, for those of you that don’t know me my name is Chris Thomas and I am a senior SDSU majoring in Kinesiology with a double minor in Leadership and Spanish! But enough about me, because this is about the one woman that has done so much for me I cannot even begin to explain my love for her.
For those of you that do know me, you all know how much of a mama’s boy I am and you all know how genuine and amazing my mom is to everyone she meets. She is the reason I do everything, she is my “WHY”, and she has continuously pushed me to do better. My mom has one of the most giving and heartwarming personalities of anybody I have ever met, and that is why I am asking for all of your help.
At the beginning of this year, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and had surgery within a month of her diagnosis. However, the journey has not been an easy one, because she began a 6-month chemotherapy treatment to begin fighting back against this stupid disease. To show the amount of perseverance this woman has, she continued to work until about one month ago. However, with my dad already retired she has been the only source of income for my family and now is not able to work because of the pain she is in from the new treatment. This new treatment costs about $400/session and is 5 days a week with insurance not covering a dime. So this is why I reach out to all of you for your help and consideration.
To be honest, I never thought I would need to do this because I have wanted to be able to help her myself, but I have realized I can no longer just do it all alone. Any amount that you can give is greatly appreciated and even if you cannot give please share this post because you are making a difference! There is never a day that goes by where I just wish I could take all the pain from her because she doesn’t deserve any bit of it. So please, help me make a difference in the life of the one person who has given me life and everything she ever had since then.
