An iPad for Weerd Wayne

Weerd Wayne Watkins has been a legendary presence in the airwaves of Gulf South radio for over 40 years. His lifetime of achievements cover over six radio stations working as a DJ, to Program Director, and even owner and operations manager of his own internet streaming station.
Wayne has developed macular degeneration of both of his eyes. Macular degeneration is a vision change that can gradually create blurry vision over time.
AMD affects the macula, the small central area of the retina that maintains our sharpest vision. The health of the macula determines our ability to read, recognize faces, drive, watch television, use a digital device, and perform any other detailed visual task.
A patient with AMD gradually loses central vision but maintains peripheral or side vision. Blindness is rare in AMD.
The Lighthouse for the Blind is assisting Wayne with acclimating to this new experience, but they are limited. Wayne has an extensive family and fan base on social media and we want him to be able to maintain his relationships with as much ease as is possible. He is currently able to minimally utilize an iPhone to do this because of it's talk-to-text functions and also to read text out loud. Unfortunately, an iPhone has a small screen and greatly limits it's functionality.
Wayne recently asked his friends if anyone had an iPad with a screen bigger than 9 inches that they wanted to sell. I asked if he had any objections to crowd funding to help get the best iPad to fit his needs. Our humble DJ said it would feel like he was begging, but I and a few other friends assured him that this would be repayment for decades of him entertaining us and our Southern families.
I can personally say the Weerd Wayne has made my life more enjoyable over the years while following his career and I want to give back in kind. With your help we can show our love and dedication to an icon of New Orleans and Gulf Coast entertainment and make it possible for him to maintain his current lifestyle and maybe even improve it.
