An Bóthar go Sangam - Girl Guides for India
We are a group of Tralee Girl Guides who are fundraising to help two
organisations who work with the poor and underprivileged in Pune,
India, - the Maher Organisation. (www.maherashram.org ) and
The Door Step School ( www.doorstepschool.org/pune )who provide
food, clothing and access to education and training.
We are doing a virtual walk from Tralee, County Kerry to Pune, India
a distance of 7,952km or 12.5 million steps.
We ask you to support us on our journey to bring help to these
organisations who look after the forgotten people of India who
are in desperate need of medical oxygen, ventilators and vaccines.
Our aim is to raise €12,500 and every €10 you contribute will
bring us ten thousand steps closer to our destination.
We visited the Girl Guide World centre in Samgam, Pune, in 2019
and while we were there we volunteered with these organisations
in local community projects and got to see, first hand, the everyday
challenges faced by the poor and the marginalised and how much
they can achieve through their own resourcefulness, creativity and
energy with a little support.
When we saw the scale of the human tragedy unfolding in India and
the harrowing Images on our TV screens each evening we just had to
do something to help.
Your support will make a real difference.
No donation is too small and will be greatly appreciated.
