AmyJo Nichols Recovery Fund

Donation protected
My name is Amy Allen, and my 20 year old daughter, AmyJo Nichols, was involved in a car crash, which caused the vehicle she was in to hit a tree head on and flip around 5-6 times while the driver was going 80-100mph, causing AmyJos back to break and parts of her spine became shattered. She is also covered in bruises and scratches from head to toe. She is unable to sit up by herself, and she has to use a walker and/or wheelchair around the house because doing too much at once could cause her body more harm. She had just got done working a 12 and a half hour shift and was sleeping in the car, and woke up to the car flipping. She’s currently recovering, mentally and physically, and organ donors and wearing a seat belt are the only reasons she is still alive today. AmyJo did not have insurance (medical), and she was not the one driving. The car that caused the wreck lacked car insurance. I’m a single mother of 4 and only get $668/month, and right now is one of the most challenging times of our life and we have already struggled finically previously in our life. We can not afford the trips back and forth to the hospitals and doctors appointments along with her medications and anything else she may need. We had an offer to put her in a nursing home, but she is my very first baby, and i much rather have her home taking care of her. My children and I help her when she needs it 24/7 and she currently has a bed set up in our living room. My oldest son gave up his bed so she wouldn’t have to suffer, because everyone’s beds are too low to the ground for her to be able to recover and move easier. We’re currently trying to get her approved for health insurance, which is a long process, and she was denied disability the first go around. If you read this and decide to help finically we thank you so much, but if you aren’t please consider becoming an organ donor today. Anything helps, we just really need the help because this tragedy was so sudden, and she is a miracle to have survived this.
