Amy Carlson Cancer Recovery Fund

Dear Friends and Family,

Our awesome friend, and family member Amy Jo Carlson has had her tumor return. Unfortunately, this last month she has been dealing with severe migraines and memory loss issues, so she has now moved in with her parents while she fights this. They have been awesome in helping her find the best care to kill this “Tumzilla”!  “Tumzilla” as Amy refers to it, has been upgraded to a stage 4 glioblastoma. This is the same cancer that killed John McCain and Ted Kennedy, so Doc is in a hurry to get it out.

Amy will be having her surgery on Dec. 4th at KU Med. The surgery starts at 12:30. It is a very lengthy surgery, so I will give you all updates as we get information.

We are in the process of looking for a Cancer Treatment Center for post operation rehabilitation and recovery. This is Amy’s 3rd brain surgery and will need several months of rehabilitation, which the insurance she has will not cover.  We are making sure the next steps that Amy takes are the best for her and her situation. All your prayers and thoughts would be appreciated. My sister is not one to want a lot of attention, but a short message of encouragement would be awesome!

The money raised through gofundme will be used to assist with treatment, care and comfort needs specifically tailored to address the cancer Amy has been diagnosed with.
