Cecil Needs Quality of Life Surgery

Canadian Registered Charity Beaver Creek Farm Sanctuary took Cecil in when he was merely weeks old. He was suffering from seizures, bladder stones, kidney infections, malnutrition and difficulty walking. Cecil barely survived puppyhood and now he faces additional challenges as a nearly one year old lovely boy. Cecil was limping badly and barely able to walk when he was assessed and diagnosed with panosteitis (bone inflammation or growing pains) as well as bilateral elbow dysplasia. This was after an in-depth investigation by the good veterinaries (Dr Mason & Dr Ringwood) at the VEC (Veterinary Emergency Clinic, Toronto, ON). He did not qualify for surgery to his elbows at that time because the panosteitis was so severe he was having difficulty weight bearing. We waited a couple of months and the panosteitis was improving, so Cecil finally qualifies for the much needed elbow surgery that will end his life of pain.  There is an 85% chance that Cecil will fully recover in 5 months and lead a normal life without pain. Without the surgery Cecil's life of pain will continue and he will have a much shortened life.

Cecil is a remarkable husky / GSD mix who loves everyone. He's incredibly polite and has found ways to play that don't involve running. He steals everyone's heart and only wants to love and be loved. We're hoping we can raise the funds to afford this amazing boy a much improved quality of life.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contribution you can make to help Cecil walk, run and play like a normal dog.
