Medical bills for our son James

Our son has been diagnosed with cancer and is in need of an operation amd treatments.  He is currently a professor at California State University at San Bernardino and also does part time acting and operates the sound board at Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs. The health insurance he had to get under Covered California (part of Obamacare) is either not being accepted by the doctors he needs to see or the insurance company has refused to pay for most of the necessary examinations and treatments. One doctor charges over $500 just for an office visit while some medications costs over $400 a month and one of the procedures he needs will cost over $100,000. For his initial procedure, the cancer hospital requires about $5,000 just to get started. I am retired from the US Air Force and James' mother, a well qualified registered respiratory therapist has been unemployed for over two years and this situation makes it difficult for us to assist in the extraordinary costs of all the medical expenses we are anticipating. We really do not know how much all of the treatments, procedures and medications will cost over the period required. Since this disease is in the early stage we are hoping that the necessary procedures and medications, if made early enough, will help to stop its progression. Any donation, regardless of the amount, will certainly be appreciated and will help James with his doctors and hospital expenses.
