New charity ride bike for Benscoter

If you are reading this, Robert Benscoter probably doesn’t need much in the way of an introduction. He has been involved with many charity cycling events over the past 16 years. He has raised over $128,000 in 41 events in 20 different states and 5 different countries. With the rides and his training this puts him at about 46,000 miles of riding. In addition to being a tireless fundraiser for so many charities, Robert is always quick to jump to the aid of his fellow cyclist. He was the first on the scene when I broke my shoulder on a ride last summer and went above and beyond to get me the help I needed. I also witnessed this a few weeks ago on AIDS/LifeCycle (ALC) when Robert came to the aid of a cyclist having a seizure.

The unfortunate bad news is that Robert cracked his bike frame during ALC just a few weeks ago. He was able to get a loaner bike to complete the ride on but now that the ride is over he is without a safely functioning bike. He had signed up to participate in the California Coast Classic (CCC) benefiting the Arthritis Foundation in September. He has had to put his training and fundraising on hold while he tries to get a replacement bike.

Robert’s giving and selfless nature has compelled me to create this funding page to raise at least $2000 to help Robert get back in the saddle. Leftover funds will go towards Robert’s fundraising.
