Amigos Alados 2019 Fundraiser

Want to join us in making a difference for elementary school children and birds?  We are raising money to benefit Amigos Alados, an environmental education nonprofit organization that we founded in 2007 after seeing children killing birds with slingshots and learned that many bird species populations around the world are in drastic decline.

We have just received a $10,000 Challenge Grant from an anonymous donor and hope to meet this goal by June 30, 2019.

Amigos Alados  links students in San Francisco's Bay Area with students in Western Mexico in the study of migratory birds that we share. Through their relationships, the children build a greater understanding of the dangers songbirds face at both ends and all along their migratory paths. The Amigos Alados project engages students in environmental education and conservation action, as well as giving them an opportunity to reach out to young people in a foreign country who share their concerns. In the 2018 - 2019 school year we have served over 850 students in grades 1 - 7.
