Amélie’s Great Britain Water Polo Journey

Donation protected
We are fundraising for Amélie to help support the financial demands of her day to day training, travel, competing in national age group and ladies competitions throughout the UK alongside international training camps and international competitions when representing Great Britain under 17s Water Polo squad and now Great Britain under 19s and Senior squads. Amélie was recently in Hungary with GB senior squad for a training camp and playing in the Danube Cup where they won gold medal which is an amazing achievement especially at the age of 16.
Amélie has now been selected for GB senior team to play in European championships in Eindhoven in early January. Having only played under 17s Europeans in the summer as a 15 year old to being selected for the senior team as a 16 year old 6 months later is an unbelievable achievement. Some of the best teams in the world including world champions the Netherlands and Olympic silver and medalist from Tokyo Spain and Hungary will also be competing.

Amelie has been playing water polo
for the past 4 years and in that time has represented Coventry Water Polo at junior and senior level, Cheltenham in British National Ladies League and various national age group competitions and West Midlands at various age groups at inter regionals. Amélie has won numerous most valued player ( MVP ) and Top Goal Scorer awards at these national competitions.

Amelie only recently turned 15 years old and has already represented Great Britain in the EU nations held in Brno in May 2022. Amelie recently spent 5 days training in Barcelona and will be heading to Holland for 5 days in January with her Great Britain Squad. This is all in preparation for the under 17s Europeans qualifiers in March and if they qualify then European Championships to be held in Turkey in July/August 2023. Amélie was also selected in Great Britain Under 19s squad to play in senior ladies EU Nations in Czech Republic at the start of December where the team won bronze medal and Amélie was Top Goal Scorer.

Amélie is very committed, driven and focused with her passion for water polo and desire to succeed is astonishing. She continues to push herself at every training session whether that be in the pool or at the gym. Representing Great Britain has been an amazing experience and reward for all her hard work and hopefully she will be representing Great Britain for many years to come.

Amelie’s water polo journey is all self funded so any donations would be greatly appreciated to help with all the costs involved in playing the sport she loves and
enable her to progress.
