Amelia's car accident fund

Donation protected
Hi friends and family,

It is hard for me to ask for help but here goes...this morning my little sister and her boyfriend were in a bad car accident in Vermont. Her boyfriend will require surgery in the next week and Amelia has a cracked sternum amongst other injuries. My family and I are doing what we can to support them right now but unfortunately are falling a bit short.

As some of you know, my sister has dealt with serious addiction for some time. In the past two years, she and her boyfriend have worked incredibly hard to overcome this addiction and are now in a maintenance program where they are excelling. They both have jobs, were recently able to scrape together enough money to buy a car that was MUCH needed, and overall are on the up-swing. Neither of them has a job that offers benefits...no paid sick leave, no PTO, no health insurance.  In the midst of this car accident, they have also been looking for a place to live as their current situation is soon ending. The car that they worked so hard to acquire is now totaled. There will be missed work and there are bills (medical and otherwise) to pay on top of trying to find a new place and another car.

After not having much of a relationship with my little sister for the past 10 years, we have reconnected in the last 2 and I am BEYOND proud of all the work she and her boyfriend have put in to better their lives.  She and my mom walked me down the aisle at my wedding in June; two years ago I wasn't sure she would live to see me get married.

I am planning to go to Vermont to help out as needed...in addition to time, money is needed as well. Without anything to fall-back on, I am worried about what will happen to my sister. If you can spare even $1, it would mean so much. I've never done this before and it's so hard to ask for help but I would do anything for my family. Any funds raised will go directly to replacing the car (my mom and I are also contributing $1000/ea), medical bills, utility bills, groceries, etc.  If you can't donate, I totally understand and only ask for your positive vibes.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
