Amber's Miracle

Donation protected
Amber Joy Woodworth was born October 9th 2002 and was diagnosed at 39 days old with Prader Willi syndrome. Tim and Amy were told she would never walk, talk, or live a normal life.
Prader Willi is a genetic disorder that causes obesity; due to the lack of feeling full, learning delays, low muscle tone, behavior issues, and violent outbursts.
Amber has been a delightful child who has taught Tim and Amy to slow down,  love deep, see the beauty through pain, and rejoice in the simple steps that come so easily to other children. Amber has struggled to accomplish tasks such as to tie her shoes,  walking,  zipping a jacket, talking, and eating on her own. As she has approached puberty her compulsive sneaking of food; which has caused a 75 lb weight gain in 3 years, her outbursts and violent behavior, her medical issues such as cellulitis, boils, and hives on her skin has brought her to the realization she needs help. Amber went to her mom a couple months ago and said "Mom I need a miracle"
Tim and Amy have done the best job they can with the skills they have to care for Amber in her disability. Through 6 different specialists that have been some help, just seems to have come to an end.
Out of desperation to help their sweet Amber, Amy contacted PWS USA who put her in touch with Health Bridge Children's Hospital in Houston Texas. For the first time in three years they have a glimmer of hope. I was on the phone with Amy when she said "I've got to go" and hung up. She called me back and said it was the insurance company,  Amber was approved for a 3 month stay at Health Bridge where they will work hand in hand with Amber on nutrition, physical fitness, anger management, and life changing skills and tools that will equip Amber to be successful as an adult.
I know the hospital stay is covered but Tim and Amy are still going to have to purchase 3 round trip plane tickets to make this happen. They are flying her down March 26th. Amy will have to fly down and back again at the halfway mark and then Tim and Amy both will fly down at the end of the program to bring Amber home. There will also be hotel stays each trip and cost for commuting to and from airport and hotel. Please donate to this sweet family whatever way you can. I know they will appreciate it it so very much.  I really love Amber  and her family. I will be praying for their healing and learning through out this chapter of their life. Tim and Amy live in Spokane Washington and have 3 children. Amber 15 Alannah 10 and Ian 8
