Amazing Gracie's Legacy

My Godchild Grace Lynn  AKA "Amazing Gracie" was born on December 5, 2014 at Mercy (formerly St. John's) Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born with Trisomy 18 and her prognosis was overwhelming, however this little princess warrior is a fighter who has been defying all the odds. Her family and friends never gave up faith or hope along her difficult journey.  Since her birth, Baby Gracie has had three surgeries and many trials to overcome. Her parents were faithfully by her side as they were camped out in the NICU for three exhausting months.  Bella and Gavin (big sister and brother) were at home with Grandma anxiously waiting for Gracie to hopefully come home and to get a little normalcy back into their lives. 

It was a joyous day on February 20, 2015 when Mommy and Daddy were finally able to bring little Gracie home. They take each step one day at a time and they are slowly but surely getting back into a routine as they all are adjusting to their new and wonderful lives with their beautiful miracle baby girl! God is good!

Gracie's parents are both self-employed which allowed them to be present at the hospital during this traumatic time. However, as you can only imagine, the extended period of time (away and distracted) from work would eventually take a financial toll.  Jody and Chris's close friend Cindy came to me first with the thought and we decided that this would be a great idea to make it our goal to raise money to lessen the financial stress over the last three months and to help provide for Gracie's continued care at home.  Chris and Jody were reluctant to our idea as they are so used to being the ones to help others, so therefore this took a little convincing but we want so much to ease the financial burden of it all for this amazing family that we love so very much!
