Amargo (USC short film)
Don protégé
My name is Jacob Victorica and I am currently studying filmmaking production at USC. This coming semester I will direct my Junior Thesis film titled Amargo inspired by my grandma. I’ll be working alongside my producer Greta Gunell, cinematographer Adam Montague.
Amargo; bitter
Synopsis: A depressed Grandma Lola has no motivation or energy to try since her husbands passing. Until, her grandson shows up on her doorstep. Will them cooking an old family dish together help her find joy in what was once how she showed love?
I aim for this film to give more representation of Latinos on screen which was my goal in the first place going into USC as I want to show a different perspective than the stereotype commonly seen on screen. As well as giving light to the elderly people we love in our life and how cooking is what can be powerful when connecting with each other.
I would appreciate any form of donation as this will go all towards the film Amargo ! (:
