Amanda Sanchez is 25 years old and is the longtime girlfriend of a colleague, Michael Zahorsky.
She can ONLY be described as an amazing human being.
Joy, love, and laughter exude from the depths of her soul to the outside world. Her positive attitude is contagious and her kindness inspires us to be better.
A couple of weeks ago Amanda underwent a biopsy to analyze a tumor in her brain. As we all visited Amanda, we were humbled by the big smile she continued to have on her face and her concern for others, as she sat in a hospital bed herself. She joked about the patch on her eye and was just being Amanda, smiley, happy Amanda.
After a week, she was told that she had a RARE stage IV brain cancer. She was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma H3 K27M-Mutant. Amanda comes from a huge loving family, and this news was devastating to all of us.
But, Amanda didn’t allow herself to sink into the darkness of negativity and her positive outlook and will to fight became our inspiration for us all to help her fight. And that is what we all strive to do. Not only family but also amazing friends have stepped up to join this battle. At 26, Amanda has a lot to fight for and she will not go to war alone. We are all lined up and ready to go.
Please help us fight this battle for someone who is an amazing human being with so much to offer and only 25 years into her life.
We need financial assistance to help with medical expenses, clinical trials, and travels. Because of the rarity of the disease, options are scarce and time is of essence.
