Alpro Foundation - Growing Stars Project

Due to the increasing financial strain, as a consequence of the COVID crisis, children are increasingly dropping out of school in Malaysia. This initiative is to support the education of children from low in come families unable to attend school online in Malaysia. Most of these children have had 1 or both parents lose their lives because of COVID. Only 15% of students have computers!
The crisis in Malaysia is mounting as social distancing is a luxury in densely populated areas. I have set up this fundraiser to assist because as citizens of the world, we should do our part. This is a beautiful country I have worked in, taught in and visited on numerous occasions right up to COVID hitting and it breaks my heart to think that these innocent children may become a lost generation.

The project aims to support 1000 households from low income families with education relief. The program will sponsor eligible students with 6 months of data plan for online schooling and RM100/month for another 6 months to support them to get ready for the 2022 school commencement. Most have these children have come from families who have lost parents due to COVID.
The cost of supporting a child is AU$550.00
The project has already assisted 134 students with 35 students currently on an urgent waitlist, however due to their own restrictions they are not able to keep fundraising due to complete lock down conditions. Reaching out to international communities who are in a better position is the only option.
