Alonzo and Thow's Hoop Dreams

Donation protected
Alonzo Tan and Thow Biel are 2 boys who have dedicated their lives to the game of basketball. Playing the sport drives them to continue to push morning and night. They have been given an opportunity to pursue their basketball careers in a next level basketball school across the country. Living in Calgary, Alberta all their lives, they've been given the chance to diversify into the Eastern Canada Basketball community.

Alonzo Tan is a 5'6 point guard who has played the game since he was 4 years old. Being in 12th grade this year, he hopes to make the most of it by expanding his career. Training everyday to prove to the world that height isn't everything. With his ability to lead and be the quickest player the floor, shoot threes, swiftly steal the ball, play lock down defense and slip through the paint, he has a whole side of Eastern Canada to reveal his skills to. He had played on Team Alberta in 2016, and played as the starting point guard on his high school teams which won the division 1 championship 2 years in a row.

Thow Biel is a 6'6, 2/3 guard that has the abilities that range from posting up in the paint to controlling  the ball up the floor. Bringing his assets of shooting from everywhere on the court, fly-high dunks, blocks, handles, and complete athleticism, Eastern Canada is begging to see the book of traits Thow can bring to their game of basketball. He's only in 11th grade, with many more years to develop and train. Thow was awarded the MVP for his high school team in his tenth grade season, and achieved the Upper class-man MVP from the North Pole Hoops Showcase. Being a head of the game, he can't wait to explore a different culture of basketball in the east.

Thornlea Secondary School has presented the two the ability to adopt what both boys can bring to the table. Moving from Calgary, Alberta to Thornhill Ontario, they'll be able to expand their knowledge of the game and catch the attention of eastern recruits. The funds being raised will go towards their tuition to attend the high opportunity school. With such short notice, the coach has presented this possibility to fly the boys over by Thanksgiving Weekend. With such little time to raise a large amount of money, the boys are hoping anyone and everyone can help them get one step closer to reaching their goals.
