My humble request goes to all well-wishers around the globe. Our dear friend Alok Kumar Das has been diagnosed with “Blood Cancer” – “Myeloid Leukemia in Blast Crisis”. In the Blast Crisis, there are 20% or more blasts in the blood or bone marrow, and it is difficult to control the number of white blood cells. The blast cells can look like the immature cells seen in acute lymphoblastic leukemia for about 25% of patients or acute myeloid leukemia for most patients. Patients in blast phase often have a fever, an enlarged spleen, weight loss, and generally feel unwell.
He is admitted to Institute of Medical Sciences & Sum Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisa, INDIA and is undergoing chemotherapy for disease management. He must undergo Matched sibling SCT/Bone marrow transplant once the disease is in remission.
Alok is a BTech Engg and been in a private job. Being very Popular among his colleagues, friends and family to being hard working and an amicable person throughout. Alok carries high self-esteem and regard among his people. He got married in Nov 2016 and had ventured through to his next phase in life, little did he know about the challenge life has for him in the coming days. Both side of the families in India are in grief.
Now he needs all your help, support and blessings to overcome this huge hurdle of Bone Marrow transplant. The estimated Pre- and Post-surgery expense for Bone Marrow transplant is coming to approx. Rs. 40- 45 Lakhs (USD $65K)) with approx.5 to 6 months of recovery period. We also appeal to all well-wishers, who may be working or in connect with Not for profit or NGOs who could help for this cause.
Both side of the family have spent all their savings and his Company provided insurance wouldn't cover all the expenses for the treatment & long-term care he needs.
