Allie's Wheels

We knew around 34 weeks our warrior princess would have extra trials in her life on top of everything else that life brings. Our beautiful daughter Allie was born into this world with Spina Bifida and Meningocele and a shunt placed at birth, as a result of this condition she struggles with her physical ability. Allie walks in walker for shorter distances and uses a motorized wheel chair for longer distance, her physical disability does wear her body out due to her inability to walk in a straight up position. 
  Allie is now 18 years old and has over come many obstacles in her life so far. We  have tried to raise our daughter to be strong, kind, bold, humble, confident and independent. 
  Allie has a set back with her freedom and independence, she starts college next fall and as her parents we are unable to afford a handicap accessible vehicle with a ramp and hand controls. Allie is trying to be more independent, she does not want to rely on her parents and friends to pick her up and drop her off at college or at work.
   Our wish for Allie is for her to be able to have the independence and freedom that most of us experience everyday since we were old enough to drive.
