In 2016, at age 30, Allie Rubino was faced with the news that she had AML, cancer of her bone marrow (the soft inner part of certain bones, where new blood cells are made) and blood.
While the news was daunting, Allie was determined to beat the disease, and went into remission after several months of intense chemotherapy.
Sadly, in February 2018, AML came back for "round 2." Allie now prepares for a bone marrow transplant, the means to beat this disease once and for all!
Allie has temporarily relocated to Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa and will remain in Florida for the duration of the 9 month transplant process. This fund is intended to help supplement her significant pay decrease & medical expenses incurred during this time.
Allie's positive attitude, resiliency, and strength are an inspiration to us all. For now, she is focused on her courageous battle with AML, and looking ahead at her new "lease on life" in 2019 post-transplant. Any and all support, words of encouragement, and love to her family are greatly appreciated.
