All for Aaron

Donation protected

Aaron Caleb Castillo is a non-verbal autistic child. He just turned 8 last March 12 and before his birthday week ended, he was admitted in the hospital due to sudden platelet count drop. During the course of his confinement, he underwent series of blood transfusion, blood tests and even bone marrow test because the initial diagnosis is Leukemia. Early this week, the result of the bone marrow test confirmed the diagnosis which is Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) - a type that has a 50/50 survival rate compared with the other type, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Aaron is due for chemo as soon as possible. Me and my husband, Andrew are seeking financial assistance to support this very expensive procedure. Aaron has to undergo 6 cycles of chemotherapy. The drugs to be used for the treatment costs CAD600-700 per cycle, excluding the cost of tests to be done before and after each session, professional fees of the doctors and hospital bills.

We live in the Philippines but I have been in Canada since September 2017 to donate my kidney to my sister. The transplant date took so long to be scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances in the hospital. A few days after my sister and I got our surgery date, which is on April 3, I received the news about Aaron. It is very heartbreaking to be away with him at this very difficult time. My husband was firm in his decision to look after Aaron while I proceed with the kidney donation and I know this will be very hard for him because this means he has to do a lot of multi tasking, especially on finding ways to finance the chemotherapy sessions.

The benefiary of this campaign is my son, Aaron.  But I don't have an existing Canadian bank account to withdraw any available fund.  It is for this reason that I have sent a beneficiary invitation to my sister, Cecile Magdaleno, a permanent resident here, so I may be able to get the funds when needed through her account.

My relatives, friends and church mates have offered their prayers and support. As a mother of 3 kids, I feel the urge to do this campaign for my youngest as our means can only support the everyday needs of the family. I believe that God will provide by using those people we don't even know and I pray that those who can read this are those instruments of God. Anything will be such a great help for Aaron. May God's blessings be with us all!
