Alistair fights rare brain cancer

Our beautiful brother and son Alistair (who’s only 22years old) has had some issues over the last year or so with a possible brain tumor which has included side affects such as double vision and weakness in one side of his body.

A few weeks ago it was decided to go ahead and do a brain biopsy even though the risks of further damage was high.

The biopsy was completed a week ago and yesterday we found out Alistair has a rare form of brain cancer called Diffuse Midline Glioma usually found in children.

Unfortunately due to the location and type of cancer there’s no cure and the only form of treatment is radiation to try and stop it spreading or trying to find a clinical trial to join.

As we have only just found all this out we still don’t have all the information and will try and keep you updated when we can.

Alistair is currently recovering from the brain biopsy in hospital and we aren’t sure when he will be allowed home.

Any money raised will go towards medical costs and any further care and requirements he needs during this time.
