A Dignified Send off for Alier Riak

In the early hours of Sunday on the 13th of March 2022, our beloved Alier Riak was taken from us and began his ascent to heaven. Alier was a gentle soul. Not only was he kind, he was selfless, hardworking and full of love for his family and friends. Being a role model, Alier’s influence was huge within his community and beyond.

After receiving a basketball scholarship at Winona State University and completing his studies, Alier returned home in 2021 where he used both his skills in basketball and business to further excel in life.

He was a member of the Warwick Senators NBL 1 team in the 2021 Season. Having demonstrated his extraordinary skills, Alier signed to join the Darwin Salties for the upcoming 2022 Season. Despite these commitments, Alier still made time to influence and mentor the young people around him. For instance, Alier returns yearly to John Septimus Roe, where he graduated in 2016, to provide guidance for aspiring basketball players. Simply put, Alier was honest and beautiful in all aspects of life.

Any donations made will sincerely be appreciated as they will assist in covering funeral cost and allow the family to transport Alier back home, where he will have the send off he truly deserves.
