Alicia Perez Battle Cancer

Alicia Perez-Briones is a vibrant, energetic, single mother of two daughters living in El Paso, TX. She is a dedicated fourth grade teacher who gives over and above what she can to her students to see them succeed. This past fall, Ms. Perez was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, and has since then been through a series of four surgeries and other treatments that have left her body and immune system weakened but her spirit still willing to fight. Up until this spring she has continued to work at her job, giving all that she can to her students and also as a means of supporting her daughters financially. In order to continue her chemotherapy treatments and remain healthy, however, Ms. Perez needs to have the freedom to take some time off of work to concentrate on getting well.
