We want to say good bye to Alice Grace in a beautiful way .
Alice Grace was born on January 20th, 2015. She filled my heart with an abundance of joy. She was perfect. A beautiful gift from God. Through the course of her life, Alice went through a myriad of difficulties, but she fought with these turmoils until the very end. On may the 6th of the year 2015, we were in a car accident that gravely damaged Alice. Alice ended up with a severe traumatic brain injury. We almost lost her, and the following days were very heart wrenching. As the doctor’s predictions came to pass, Alice demonstrated significant strength. Little by little, she proved to be moving forward.
On the 24th day of December, I took Alice to the hospital with the thought that we would be returning home the very same day, but that wasn’t the case. Her health began to deteriorate slowly, and her condition was beginning to become worse. On the 5th of January the doctor called to inform us that Alice was in very grave condition. Oxygen was beginning to escape to her tissues. What could potentially occur to her next was a Pneumothorax, a collapse of her lungs, as well as the possibility that her heart would fail her. I kept asking God for a miracle so she would be saved. As time went on, her body was becoming swollen. My heart didn’t want to let her go, but at the same time I couldn’t watch her suffer. It was already too much for her. My heart shattered completely as I continued to wait, to yearn for a miracle. I waited for her to be able to breath without the ventilator that was assisting her.
At 12:02, her heart stopped, and Alice gave her final breath.
A virus called human metapneumovirus took the life of my daughter, Alice Grace, the light that shined before my eyes, the joy of my life. The only comfort I’ve received is knowing that she has safely made it into God’s arms. No more pain. No more suffering.
Under the watch of God and his angels, now she is able to walk. She can speak. She can see.
