Alfredo Mansea Burial Fund

A "local" guy, Alfredo, befriended Jennine and I back 3 years ago when we visited Ambergris Caye in Belize.  He introduced us to his family, and we spent most of our vacation with them fishing and learning about Belize.  

We stayed in touch with our new extended family ever since, and this past Christmas when visiting, we all hooked up and spent Christmas break together.   Alfredo considered us family, and made sure every need we had, anything we wanted, he would make happen.  He had the nicest soul you would ever want to know.

We left 2 weeks ago.  Yesterday, Alfredo was shot dead at point blank range by a gunman who ran off and has not been identified.  He was sitting on the back of a golf cart with a friend... now his wife is a widow and his daughter lost her father.  And nobody knows why.  Tradgic. 

Belize is a poor country, and the local fisherman (like Alfredo) have been squeezed out of much work by the ever-growing resort population.  His family has nothing, including money for a casket or burial.  Nobody deserves to go like that.   Especially family.

Please donate whatever you can afford.  Every $5 dollars helps, and larger dominations would be wonderfully welcomed.  The faster we can do this the better.  The body comes back to the island tomorrow, and burial needs are time-sensitive.   

I sincerely thank everyone who can help this family out from the bottom of my heart.  All proceeds are going to his widow Beverly for expenses incurred.
