Alfonso Hernandez Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Alfonso Hernandez was a loving father, son, and grandfather who unfortunately passed away from complications with COVID-19. He fought very hard in the ICU for three weeks and four days, but God called him to rest on January 2nd. He is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Hernandez, five children, three grandchildren, and two beloved pets.

We're hoping to raise funds to support the medical expenses he incurred while he fought the disease. We would greatly appreciate any and all contributions.

Thank you and God bless!

Obituary:

Alfonso Hernandez, a Packaging Specialist at Enginetech and lifelong resident of Farmers Branch, TX, died from COVID-19 on January 2, 2021 at the age of 62 at Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, TX.

Alfonso is predeceased by his parents Francisco Hernandez Jimenez and Salome Rodriguez Castro; sisters, Maria del Consuelo, Elvira, and Franciso’s twin who passed in the womb; brother, Marcos; and his pets Browny and Bella.

Alfonso is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Hernandez; his children, Alfonso (Ponchin), Juan Carlos, Elizabeth, Maria Del Rosario, and Fatima Rita; his siblings Josefa, Maria de la Luz, Alfredo, Norma Alicia, Francisco, Maribel, Maria de Jesus, Miguel Angel, Elisa; his grandchildren Natalie, Noah, and another one on the way. He is also survived by his beloved pets Chula (whom he loved to call Popo), and Nyla (whom he loved to call Nylito).

Alfonso was born in San Vicente, Coahuila, Mexico on February 12, 1958 to Francisco Hernandez Jimenez and Salome Rodriguez Castro. In search of a better life, he immigrated to Texas at the age of 19. A few years passed and it was then that he met his future wife Lupe, at the company Surface. He pursued her for many years until he conquered her heart. They married on May 28, 1989 in Dallas, Texas. They planted their family roots in Farmers Branch, TX shortly after where they welcomed their first child in 1990. As the years passed, God blessed them with four more children.

Alfonso was a devoted son, father, and grandfather. In his younger years he loved to go out to socialize and play baseball. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as visiting family, grilling fajitas, and watching his favorite sports teams: Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He was a man who never failed to provide to his late parents despite the long distance. He was a giver: a man who would do anything to help others, especially his family. Despite his kindness, my dad made it a point to never let anyone take advantage of him or those around him.
