Alexis’s Open Kidney Surgery

My 17 year old daughter will be undergoing a open kidney surgery. She’s been suffering from bladder infections, and VUR(reflux of the kidneys) since she was 6. Maybe even since birth but that’s when we know they started. This surgery is 3-4 hours, and her recovery time is 3-4 weeks. She will be hospitalized for up to 7 days, unless any complications come up during, or after surgery. This is a must have surgery, as the reflux is back in her right kidney(good kidney), and her left one does not work. Myself as her mother will be missing a lot of work, and as a single mom with 3 kids at home balancing Alexis’s surgery and recovery time, along with work, bills, keeping my youngest son in school, and everyday life I am in need of some financial help. We’re hoping this surgery is fully covered by insurance, but of course there will be special things  needed for Alexis while she is recovering.
