Hi everyone! I'd like you to meet Alexis who is an amazing and beautiful 8 year old girl. Her mum Casey is an old family friend of mine and has been best friend's with my sister Naralle since they started primary school together.  Alexis was a normal, healthy child until 6 weeks ago when she suffered a massive seizure at home and went into cardiac arrest. Her step-dad Zane stepped in and saved her life by performing CPR until the paramedics arrived and she was then taken to hospital.

The cause of the seizures is unknown at this stage and still being investigated but Alexis was trialed on a few different anti-seizure medications. Unfortunately she has suffered an extremely rare and severe systemic allergic reaction (DRESS syndrome) to the anti seizure medication called Tegratol (carbamazapine).  At this stage she has wide spread rash, red skin, blisters, swollen limbs, non stop fevers, fast heart rate, low oxygen levels and her major organs are swollen and struggling particularly her liver, kidneys and lungs.  It will be a slow and long recovery from this condition.

This little warrior has taken a turn for the worse and is in for the fight of her life. She has been transferred to PICU and may require intubation as a precaution. All the amazing doctors and nurses are taking very good care of her. I've never met a more brave little girl!

As you can imagine her parents are extremely stressed, worried and need to be by her side. To add to this stress Zane's work contract has been terminated today. He has been travelling long distances from Caboolture as often as he can to be at the hospital with Alexis and Casey. They also have 3 other children at home being cared for by their grandmother and the bills are piling up.

I'd like to help them if we can with the essential costs of petrol, carparking, train fares, food and all the general medical costs associated with having a child in hospital and prolonged rehabilitation and recovery.  So if you wouldn't mind blessing this family with a small donation it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much! All funds raised are being transferred directly into the beneficiary Casey's bank account.
