Alex Stewart and Family

In fall of 2021, the Stewart family received the news that no one should ever have to deal with – Alex had terminal cancer. It came to no surprise to all those who know and love them that Alex would fight with everything he had. Over the next three years, he endured countless rounds of chemo and put his body through the unspeakable to gain precious time with his girls. They made the absolute best of their time, with Alex coaching the girls in hockey, sitting sidelines at ringette and soccer, undertaking a Law Degree in line with his goal of becoming a Canadian Armed Forces Legal Officer, and ensuring quality time through some bucket-list family travel.

Unfortunately, Alex’s cancer has overtaken his fight, and they are now facing the torturous task of preparing to say goodbye to Alex. Alex and Ashley are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support from their friends, family, community, and military family while they have been dealing with this devastating situation.

In order to help alleviate the family’s financial worries during an already heartbreaking time, and to help support Alex and Ashley’s aspirations for their girls to eventually pursue post-secondary education, we have set up a way to support the Stewart family. Your support and generosity will allow them to focus on healing and honoring Alex’s memory as they navigate this incredibly difficult chapter in their lives.
