When I met Alex Knopes 7 years ago, there was no shortage of dreams, heart, love, and kindess in his body. Not only was he a college junior with a double major, a member of InterVarsity, in a fraternity, and working part-time as the manager of the Student Center, he also carried a passion project of being on the Board of Directors for the non-profit, DOXA . He spent hours in college working toward making DOXA's education program and summer camp a success.

After seeing Alex in person in Tijuana, it is something you will never forget. His love, respect, and willingness to help the city and the people is contagious. When we got the opporunity in 2015 to move to San Diego for him to work for DOXA full time we both said "yes" right away.

Alex and I are now 2 years into our adventure with DOXA with Alex being the Executive Director. I have come to see even more love, compassion, drive, and heart that Alex has for this organization and I am so lucky to be on this journey with him and to be able to see it all first hand.

Since Alex has taken this job with such excitement and dove in head first, I thought we both could spend some time together and raise some money for this organization that now has truly changed both of our lives.

Alex and I both will be running the Rock 'n' Roll Savannah Marathon on November 4 to raise money for DOXA. Our goal is to raise enough to cover the materials to build 1 house. We then hope that our friends and family come to Tijuana, see this passion of ours first hand, and we can all build the house together over a 3 day trip.
