Alex Ayers memorial bench and funeral expenses

We were all so shocked and devastated when we got the news of Alex's passing. He was such a light and a blessing to so many people all over Cartersville. He never met a stranger and he had a way of making everyone feel special. He's left a giant whole in our hearts as we move forward and learn to live in this world without him. I've spoken to some of his closest friends and we agreed that as a tribute to him and how much he was loved, it would be nice to have a visual memorial. So we're raising funds to purchase a bench with a plaque as a permanent memorial to honor him. We're not sure where the bench will be placed yet, we're working out those details, but I will post on here as soon as we know. Also I'll be posting pictures once the exact bench has been chosen and purchased. The bench we've decided on is just under $800 before shipping costs. Ive updated with those pictures. I've also spoken with Alex's family and any extra money raised will be going to them to help cover funeral expenses. That's why I've set the goal at $5000. 100% of the donations will go towards these 2 things. I will be posting updates so that anyone who donates can see the powerful impact their contribution will make.
