Alex Anderson: Funds for PD Reward and Expenses

We are asking for donations big and small to increase Denver PD’s reward amount and assist with post-death expenses, including medical and memorial costs.

Early Friday morning, May 22nd Alex was found unconscious with traumatic injuries to his head and body in the LoHi neighborhood of Denver. He was rushed to Denver Health hospital where they performed emergency surgery to remove part of his skull due to immense brain bleeding and swelling. Alex fought hard in the ICU for several days but could not overcome his injuries, passing away on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 26th.

Denver PD opened a criminal investigation immediately upon finding him Friday morning. The investigation is still in progress and a $2000 reward for information on his possible assault has been offered by Denver CrimeStoppers in partnership with the Denver PD.

COVID restrictions kept people home on a night when witnesses would have been plenty and bystanders could have provided aid. We've been advised that the more we can offer as compensation for information on what happened early Friday morning, the more likely it is that we can find answers to how Alex sustained such traumatic injuries.

Throughout his life Alex has made the world a brighter place for those lucky enough to know him – or even just cross his path. Whether skiing, biking, dancing his heart out, singing at the top of his lungs, cooking up a feast, bear-hugging, making new friends, or loving on his people… He did it all with so much passion and dedication. His fiancé Sarah was the light of his life, and he fiercely loved his family and friends.

He is greatly missed by all who knew him. Alex is kind, generous, smart, funny; he's an adventurer, a conquerer of mountains; and he is loved by so many. Thank you for sharing this fundraiser with friends and considering a donation.
