Aleia's Fight Against Crohn's

Donation protected
Aleia is an amazing, gracious, beautiful 25 year old young woman who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 18, just after her high school graduation.
If you know Aleia, then you know of her gentle spirit and a smile that can light up a room. When Aleia was first diagnosed, she spent 13 months of many hospital stays, which included blood transfusions, pancreatitis, kidney failure and many other serious and life threatening complications, then finally remission was achieved for almost 4 years. Even with remission, Aleia was quite sick alot of the time and unable to attend college to pursue her dream of being a nurse. Life for Aleia has never been the same since Crohn's entered her life. Then 6 months ago, Crohn's flared up with a vengeance again and she has become very sick. She has had 7 hospital admissions in the past 7months with over 20 hospital ER visits.
Her symptoms are not getting better and she spends all day and night in bed with complete exhaustion and nightly fevers that range from 102 to 105 degrees, night sweats, chills. She suffers with anemia, chronic increased white blood cells, chronic joint pain, nausea, many mouth ulcers, dehydration, malnutrition, swollen painful lumps on both legs and a colon with chronic severe inflammation.
Aleia has severe Crohn's, it causes her entire body to suffer. I know this well, because I am her mother, and I have been with her through all of this. There is no cure for Crohn's, and Aleia understands that. Aleia fights every day of her life and fights this disease with grace and she knows that God is good and He is in control. Aleia had to let go of her job yesterday. We knew it was coming, she has not been able to work much at all in the past several months and I have done my best to help her financially but I can't do this on my own anymore. Aleia needs complete and total rest to achieve remission along with alot of care from her many doctors. It may take six months or a year and a half to achieve remission, no one has the answer. Aleia is very immune compromised, so any small illness for healthy people is a big fight for Aleia. If you can, please help support Aleia, as your gifts of money will go for her rent, food, medical bills and gas to go back and forth to Baltimore for her treatments and doctor visits. Thank you to everyone. We have an incredible love for Aleia and want her to be healthy and to know that she is loved by family, friends and anyone with love in their hearts who will help fight with her. I want her to know she is not alone . God bless everyone.
