BE PART OF RESTORING THE "ALBURQUERQUE" MURAL in NOB HILL!
Artisan Art Supply is home to a beautiful piece of art that emulates Albuquerque history and culture. The "Alburquerque" mural was painted by local artist Larry Bob Phillips back in 2015 with the help of the PNM Foundation, Artisan Art Supply, and Nob Hill Main Street.
Just recently, it was vandalized.
Members of the Nob Hill Community - Tractor Brewing Co., Slice Parlor, ChocolateDude, University Lodge, NM Real Estate Now, O'Niell's, and Nob Hill Main Street, along with community partner, PNM, are rallying together to help raise funds to restore this iconic piece of art back to its glory. They need help of their greater Albuquerque community members!
$1500 will cover supplies and a finishing UV protector that will help with preservation against the elements and most importantly, make restoration easier if it were to be vandalized again. We're lucky enough to have Larry Bob in from Roswell as he is working on a different mural, and could begin restoration as soon as the end of the week.
All funds raised over the $1500 will go into a Mural Fund held by Nob Hill Main Street for instances in which a mural in the district would need restoration and to continue fostering the arts through future murals.
The support of our greater Albuquerque community would be more than appreciated! It would signal we can come together to express our appreciation for the artist in our community and our history.
We are in fact ONE ALBURQUERQUE!
